7 Books You NEED To Read As a Woman in Her 20s

Hey there, you! Looking for some books to read in your 20s? The good news is that this is the right place!

At the moment I am writing this, I’m 26. Not to look like a braggie, but so far, I’ve:

Traveled to more than 10 countries…

Already lived in 4 different countries…

I started my dream business…

I moved to my dream city in my dream neighborhood… (go NYC, go Brooklyn!)

Married the love of my life…

And lived experiences way beyond my wildest dreams!

I’m sharing all of this not to sound unique or better than you. Because I am not! I’m just a regular girl from a hard-working middle-class family, who loves reality shows and coffee.

But my secret of having accomplished so many of my dreams, while still in my 20s, is simple: I started educating myself early! Knowledge is power.

Without it, I would still be living in my parent’s apartment, dreaming about a life that seemed too far away to ever be real.

I am a nerd for personal development, but most of the ideas and concepts that allowed me to create a life that I live came from seven books.

Those are the TOP 7 books you NEED to read as a woman in her 20s. They will give you the tools to create a life beyond anything you could imagine.

Let me share with you some of my secret weapons…

Books to read early 20s

#1 Awaken the Giant Within

Read this book in your 20s to skyrocket your personal development journey.

If you are new to the self-development world and don’t know who Tony Robbins is, no worries! Basically, Tony is one of the most respected life and business strategist in the world.

He was doing this life-coach-personal-development thingy since the 80s, way before it was cool! So let’s start things right with some drops of wisdom.

I see “Awaken the Giant Within” as a gathering of Tony Robbins’ best teachings. You will learn how to create a life you love from scratch.

Until today, after reading dozens of personal development books, this one still contains some of the BEST tools I’ve learned.

When you are reading “Awaken the Giant Within”, do it with pen and paper by your side. Tony packs the book with activities and exercises. Get ready for an intense life audit!

Books to read mid 20s

#2 Everything is Figureoutable

Read this book in your 20s to turn your craziest biggest dreams into reality.

I’ve already shared in some other posts, how much I LOVE Marie Forleo books!

“Everything is Figureoutable” is your permission to dream BIG and turn those dreams into your reality.

With lots of inspiring stories and an actionable step-by-step plan, Marie will walk you through the path of taking your dreams from your imagination to real life.

She has a fascinating life story. Reading about how she handled major life setbacks during her twenties – and how those decisions influenced her life until today – was so inspiring!

Books to read late 20s

#3 Super Attractor

Read this book in your 20s to understand and develop your spiritual side for balance and success.

Have you ever heard about the Law of Attraction? Basically, this is one of the 12 Laws of the Universe (yep, there are 12! Soon I will post about them). It says:

“Simply put, the Law of Attraction is the ability to attract into our lives whatever we are focusing on. (…) In basic terms, all thoughts turn into things eventually. If you focus on negative doom and gloom, you will remain under that cloud. If you focus on positive thoughts and have goals that you aim to achieve, you will find a way to achieve them with massive action.” – The Law Of Attraction

This book is written by one of the most excellent spiritual teachers of our generation, Gabby Bernstein. In this book, she takes the principles of The Law of Attraction further, with a healthy daily life approach

In this book, Gabby teaches methods, exercises, and activities that became part of my routine.

What I love about it is how she starts the book with a beginner’s approach to the whole spirituality thing and walks you through a journey until more advanced techniques.

This book is a MUST if you want to invest in your spirituality in your 20s!

Amazing books to read in your 20s

#4 Secrets of The Millionaire Mind

Read this book in your 20s to get the money, honey!

I am so wildly grateful for this book! I remember a former mentor who insisted that this book changed his life, so I decided to give it a try… And I DEVOURED it!

One year after reading this book, my financial life took a 180 turn! I started a successful business, which allowed me to move to another country and live the life of freedom I’ve always dreamt about.

It seems insane and a little preachy, I know! But the principles that you are about to learn in this book are very powerful and can remove major financial blocks in your life. Blocks that you have no idea that are there (yet).

Just do your bank account a favor and go get Secrets of The Millionaire Mind, girl!

Books to read in your 20s about love

#5 The 5 Love Languages

Read this book in your 20s to get ready for healthy and fulfilling relationships.

I have been a romantic for since I can remember. At the age of four, I had my whole wedding planned out (fun fact: Because of COVID-19, I got married through Zoom, in my living room. Oh… the fun! So much planning, just to get hit with a Global Pandemic).

Because of my hopeless romantic personality, I read all the books I could find about making relationships and marriages work. That’s how I came across “The 5 Love Languages”

After many years as a marriage counselor, the author, Dr. Gary Chapman, got the conclusion that:

” (…) Relationships grow better when we understand each other. Everyone gives and receives love differently, but with a little insight into these differences, we can be confidently equipped to communicate love well. This is true for all forms of relationship – for married or dating couples, for children and teenagers, for friends and coworkers, for long-distance relationships, for those brand-new loves and for the romances that are older than the hills.” – 5 Love Languages Official Website

In this book, he explains how we receive and give love. And what we need to create and cultivate healthy relationships where both partners feel fulfilled, fully loved, seen, and understood.

One of the reasons I cherish this book so much is that the concept of 5 Love Languages works way beyond romantic relationships.

You can apply it to your family life, friendships, singleness, and even work! After reading the book, you will not be able to see yourself and those around you the same way.

#6 Like She Owns The Place

Read this book in your 20s to live your true self, owning who you are!

I first came across “Life She Owns The Place” when I was waiting for my delayed flight, at the John F. Kennedy Airport in New York. I needed something to entertain myself and take my mind of how mad I was about the eight-hour hour delay.

But, oh man… What I got was WAY MORE than a distraction. During that night, I encountered a no BS guide about becoming the woman I always dreamed about being: badass, bold, thoroughly, and completely secure on who she was.

The author, Cara Alwill, is the epitome of a woman who is secure on who she is. And she didn’t become like that by accident!

Through this book, Cara touches every single sensitive subject that we usually encounter in life during our 20s. From relationships, body image, family issues, work, dream jobs, friendships, insecurities, to how to create our dream life.

I’ve read many of her other books, but this one continues as my favorite! If you want to tune in your inner badass and never let her go away anymore, go grab this book asap!

#7 Untamed

Read this book in your 20s to burn everyone else’s expectations about who you should be, so you can go full force on becoming the woman you WANT TO BE.

I have strong feelings about this book. It did things to me—good, weird, beautiful things.

Untamed is one of those books that you have to read in small doses. The words sink deep into your soul and bring to light things you didn’t even know.

Glennon Doyle is like the wise older sister + best friend we all need and secretly want. As I was reading the book, I felt hugged by Glenn. It was like she was saying: “Hey there, baby girl… I’ve been where you are right now. It’s ok to feel this way. But look closely, there is a better, most beautiful way.”

If you feel like you have been living a life where you do your best to be perfect and make everyone else happy, while you feel like you don’t know who you are anymore… Please, just start reading Untamed.

If you are proud of the lifestyle you are building and want it to be the most beautiful possible version possible… Please, start reading Untamed.

I promised myself that if I have a daughter, I will give this book as a present on her 21st birthday. Every woman must read this book as soon as she can.
