Now, what about that self-love ritual I told you about? 

Self-Care Activities & My Self-Love Ritual

To start this ritual, I want you to find a quiet space in your home where you can be alone for a few minutes. This will become a nurturing space, essential for you to focus on yourself, your self-love journey, and your daily mental health rituals. If you are not able to have this as part of your daily routine, try to at least have a weekly focus to allocate a few minutes over the week to invest in yourself. 

Step One: Setting The Mood

You can wake up 15 minutes before everyone to take advantage of those precious moments by yourself. This can be an essential part of your self-care activities, mainly if you’re dealing with anxiety or feelings of stress. 

I know this can be almost impossible if you are a mom. So, anything works. Think bathroom, walk-in pantry, closet… Give yourself a 10-minute break.

When you find your place, press play on your calming playlist. It might sound (pun intended) like a small thing, but staying consistent with your playlist is a helpful tool for creating a calming and soothing environment, enhancing your self-love experience and daily guidance. It can also aid in emotional regulation if you’re dealing with anxiety.

After that, light your candle to further set the mood, as it helps in reframing your experience. 

As you light your candle, set your intention for this moment. This intention is a powerful tool that helps you focus your energy and thoughts on what you want to achieve from this self-love ritual, and it can also bring encouragement. 

What do you want to take from here? More self-love, self-compassion, seeing yourself as worthy of your dreams, or connecting with your future self?

Step Two: Visualizing Self-Love

Close your eyes as you set the intention and visualize yourself living with that intention as your reality. This visualization technique helps you imagine and feel what it’s like to have your intention realized, providing the best experience. 

Imagine yourself living in a place of compassion and pure love for yourself. Visualize yourself living your best life, being your best version, with a deep sense of self-worth. 

Let the feelings that will bubble set in, as this can reflect our inner world.

Step Three: Self-Love Journaling

Once you open your eyes, choose at least 2 questions from this list, grab a pen, and answer them in your self-love journal.

Having a daily journal can be an easy option and one of the most useful tools for you to reflect on your inner world and keep track of your progress. Think of this as your own self-love program! 

Write as much as you can, and give yourself details. After that, read your answers and keep them close to your heart. Reflecting on them through your day can help integrate daily self-care activities into your routine.
