60 Vision Board Ideas for 2027 (For Women Starting a New Chapter)

Pinterest pin: 60 vision board ideas for 2027 that feel like you. isabelledias.com

Be honest: how many vision boards have you made that ended up behind the closet door by February? (*Raises hand. Twice.*)

You sit down with a stack of magazines, a glue stick and the best intentions. An hour later you’ve got a beach in Bali, a woman doing a perfect yoga pose at sunrise, and a kitchen that costs more than your house. It looks pretty. It looks like what a vision board is “supposed to be.” But it doesn’t feel like you.

I get it. For years my vision boards were full of aesthetically pleasing images that looked gorgeous, but didn’t fully feel like “me.” I noticed it, kind of… and then glued on another pretty picture and moved on. Then I started a new chapter (hello, motherhood!), and that quiet little “this isn’t really me” feeling got LOUD. I couldn’t ignore it anymore, and I had no idea what to put on the board instead.

Here’s what changed everything: I understood that a good vision board isn’t a wish list of things. It’s a picture of how you want to feel, and the tiny, real-life moments that would make you feel that way.

So in this post you’ll find 60 vision board ideas for 2027, sorted by life area, plus words, themes and a 20-minute version for when you’re tired. Pick the ones that make your heart do a little happy dance and skip the rest.

And if you’re in a hard season right now? You don’t need a big board. One index card on the fridge counts. No guilt allowed over here.

Before You Start: The Question That Makes Every Board Work

Before you cut a single picture, grab a notebook and answer this:

“At the end of 2027, how do I want to feel?”

Calm? Brave? Free? Rested (please let it be rested)? Write down three feelings. These become the filter for everything on your board. If an image doesn’t match one of your three feelings, it doesn’t go on, no matter how pretty it is.

Your action: Write your three feelings at the top of a page. If you get stuck, my life audit guide is a lovely place to start, and these self-reflection journal prompts will help you dig a little deeper.

And if you’ve never made a vision board before, I walk you through the whole process (supplies, layout, where to hang it) in how to make a vision board that works. Today is all about what to put on it.

Vision Board Words and Phrases for 2027

Sometimes one word says more than ten pictures. Pick one or two of these, or use them as your word of the year:

  • For a calm year: peace, slow, rest, gentle, enough, breathe
  • For a brave year: bold, courage, begin, rise, yes, unstoppable
  • For a new chapter: becoming, fresh start, bloom, new season, reset, home
  • For a joyful year: play, delight, light, adventure, laugh, romanticize
  • Phrases: “I am allowed to take up space.” “Small steps count.” “Rest is part of the plan.” “This is my year to come back to me.”

5 Vision Board Themes (If You Want a Board With a Vibe)

Not sure how to pull it all together? Pick one theme and build around it:

  • The Cozy Reset Board: soft colors, rest, home, routines. Perfect if you’re exhausted and want a gentle year.
  • The Becoming Her Board: for a big identity shift (new mom, new city, after a breakup). Pairs well with my how to become her guide.
  • The One-Word Board: your word in the middle, and only images that match it.
  • The Feelings Board: split into three sections, one for each of your three feelings.
  • The Tiny Wins Board: small, doable goals only. Great if big goals make you freeze.

Vision Board Supplies I Love

You truly don’t need anything fancy. Old magazines, printer paper and a glue stick work beautifully. But if you want to make it a cozy little ritual, these are lovely:

A cut-out book is a lifesaver if you don’t have old magazines lying around (and who does anymore?).

A cork board lets you move things around during the year, which I love, because your board is allowed to change as you do.

This one is a splurge, but printing your own photos (your real friends, your real kitchen, your real kids) makes a board feel SO much more personal.

The 20-Minute Vision Board (For Tired Women)

If an afternoon of cutting and gluing sounds like too much right now, that’s OKAY! Here’s the tiny version:

  1. Write your three feelings on an index card.
  2. Add one word for the year.
  3. Choose three images (screenshots count!) and make them your phone wallpaper.
  4. Put the index card somewhere you’ll see it every morning.

Done! Yay, you!! You can always make the big board later. Or never. A vision board is a tool, not a test.

How to Actually Use Your Vision Board

A vision board doesn’t work by magic. Buuuut it does work by reminding you, every single day, what you said mattered. Here’s how to keep it alive:

  • Hang it where you’ll see it daily: next to your bed, your mirror or your desk.
  • Pick one tiny action per image. Bookshelf picture? Read 10 pages tonight. Friends picture? Text one friend.
  • Check in once a month. Take a deep breath, look at your board and ask: what’s one small step I can take this month?
  • Let it change. If something no longer fits, take it down. That’s not failing, that’s growing.

If you want more structure, my guide to life vision planning for beginners turns your board into a simple yearly plan.

What If I Don’t Know What I Want?

Oh friend, this is SO normal, especially if you’re in a season of change. A few honest truths:

  • You don’t need to know your whole year. Start with how you want to feel and let the details come later.
  • Notice what you envy. A little jealousy is often a clue about what you want.
  • Look back before you look forward. My New Year reset checklist helps you close this year first, which makes the next one much clearer.
  • If you’re surviving right now, your board can say “rest.” That’s a beautiful goal.

Your 2027 Starts With One Picture

Remember, your vision board doesn’t have to be perfect, aesthetic or Pinterest-worthy (ok, maybe a liiittle Pinterest-worthy). It just has to feel like you.

Pick one idea from this list today. Just one. Cut it out, save it, write it down. That’s how a new chapter starts: one small, brave step at a time. You’ve got this!!

Now tell me in the comments: what’s the first thing going on your 2027 vision board? I’d love to cheer you on! And pin this list for later so it’s ready for your vision board night.

If you’d like me to walk with you for longer than one evening, my 21-day plan takes you through a full reset, one small step a day.

Wishing you all the love,

Isabelle
