Quick & Easy Activities to Boost Confidence for Beginners

I guess you are looking for practical activities to boost your confidence and help you develop your personal growth journey… In that case, you are in the right place!
This article will show you what confidence-boosting activities have best worked for my clients and me. Plus, I’ll give you tons of science and psychology-based tips and tricks!
This one is a biggie, so grab yourself a cup of tea and get cozy. If you need to pin this for later, I recommend doing that now!
But first…

Since my goal with this blog is to equip you with tools to create a life YOU LOVE that fits the worldview you believe in, I think it’s important to explain the method behind the madness.
Because you are the master of your destiny, you deserve to know why these activities to boost confidence will help you!
All of these activities work as simple ways to build confidence because they tap into a crucial thing inside of this beautiful brain of yours: self-efficacy.
When you need to boost your confidence, the most reliable and safe way is to shake up your self-efficacy. I already dug deep into this concept, but for this post, keep in mind that self-efficacy is:
“‘Self-efficacy refers to an individual’s belief in his or her capacity to execute behaviors necessary to produce specific performance attainments (…). reflects confidence in the ability to exert control over one’s own motivation, behavior, and social environment. (…)’ – American Psychological Association
Now, translating to real-life terms: every time you succeed at a task, you’re putting a block on your ‘I believe in myself!’ wall.
And in each of these activities to boost your confidence, you’ll be doing exactly that – stacking up blocks on your “I believe in myself!” wall!
So, let’s dive into those confidence-building activities I promised you!
My Favorite Activities To Boost Your Confidence
One: Learn About Something You LOVE
There’s nothing more empowering than educating yourself.
Among activities to boost your confidence, a great start is diving into a topic you’re interested in and signing up for The University of Google.
For example, if skincare excites you, spend some time reading about best practices or watching YouTube videos by dermatologists.
Or, if you’re all about Marie Kondo’s methods, invest a few hours in learning how to implement her mindset in your own life!
The goal here is to boost your confidence by building intellectual abilities and having some fun along the way.
Two: Create Something From Scratch

And no… You don’t need to create the next Mona Lisa! The goal is simply to boost confidence through self-efficacy by having fun.
This could be trying out a recipe on Pinterest that makes you excited for dinner or starting a DIY project you’ve been saving forever. Research shows that creative activities are excellent for mental health and overall happiness.
Quoting Psychology Today (cause we fancy):
“Research has shown that hand activity from knitting to woodworking to growing vegetables or chopping them are useful for decreasing stress, relieving anxiety, and modifying depression” – Psychology Today
So go ahead, tune into your inner Cake Boss and bake those peanut butter brownies!
Three: Workout

As Elle Woods says, exercise not only releases endorphins but also serves as a fantastic way to boost your confidence.
Research has shown that physical activity improves self-esteem and helps manage anxiety and depression.
Choose something you love, whether it’s Zumba, Yoga, or a dance workout on YouTube!
To inspire you, let me share two of my favorites YouTube workouts:
- This 2000’s Dance Party Workout, with all the Pussycat Dolls, Usher, and Rihanna vibes!
- …Aaand this Hamilton Dance Workout. Little secret: I am heavily obsessed with Hamilton. I randomly quote the songs during my daily life, being completely shameless about it! Nobody is perfect.
Both don’t require any equipment and are a full-body workout, so have fun!
Four: Take Yourself On a Self-Development Date
I’m a big fan of solo dates! When looking for confidence-boosting activities, this can be a real treat.
Whether it’s reading a self-help book in a cozy café or going for a walk while listening to a podcast, these moments promote independence and help you feel fulfilled without relying on others.
A few examples are:
- Go to a cute coffee shop and spend hours reading a self-help book as you sip on delicious coffee.
- Or go for a walk in the park as you listen to your favorite podcasts or audiobooks.

It’s a treat yourself + educate yourself moment!
This works because it promotes independence and confidence in your ability to be happy, peaceful, and fulfilled without depending on other people. Win-win!
Five: Have a Self-Care Day At Home

Self-care is more than face masks – it’s about tending to yourself in a holistic way. Among activities to build confidence, dedicating a whole day to self-care can be a game-changer.
Start with some yoga or meditation, enjoy a skincare routine, and finish with your favorite comfort meal. Pure bliss!

Six: Write Down Your Biggest Dreams And Visualize Them

Goal-setting is a powerful way to boost your self-confidence. Writing down your dreams helps you connect with your aspirations and see a new script for your life.
Take a few minutes to close your eyes and imagine living those dreams, letting yourself feel the excitement and confidence of achieving them!
Sometimes, when you are too caught up in a no-self-confidence-rut, it’s easy to forget and have clarity on your dreams. But not today…
Write down your top three goals. Don’t judge. Just write.
After writing them down, read each one a few times. Next, close your eyes and imagine how your life will be after you accomplish them—how you will feel, what will be different, and what your daily routine will look like…
This activity will help you create a new, exciting script for yourself and your life. And quoting one of my favorite life lessons:
“If you can imagine it, you can achieve it. If you can dream it, you can become it.” – William Arthur Ward
Seven: Curate Your Social Media
Social media can affect your confidence levels, so take control!
Unfollow or mute accounts that don’t lift you up, and surround yourself with people and content that support a positive, confident mindset.
Eight: Implement a New Daily Routine

Investing time in a routine that prioritizes your goals and self-care can work wonders on your confidence.
Looking at your calendar, investigate where you can find time to make self-care a daily habit. Trust me, it doesn’t have to take tons of time.
Even a quick morning or evening routine can shift your mindset to one that values self-worth and growth (hello, self-efficacy calling!)
Invest time in routines that make you feel good about yourself and your life’s direction. This will make you less likely to be vulnerable to feelings of insecurity.

Love these tips. I’m getting better but I can definitely see areas where I can improve. Unfollows are a really difficult one! Thanks!
Isabelle Dias
I am so happy the post inspired you to see new improvement possibilities, Stephanie! And I agree with you; unfollows can be a hard one. One thing that helped me with that was to use the “mute” button on Instagram – you don’t unfollow but chose to not see that person’s posts anymore. It’s heaven-sent! 😉
